View Full Version : New opening marketing idea... CREATE YOUR OWN NIGHTCLUB

Here's a new idea I am trying for my new opening. The idea is to get potential customers to help me "create" the ideal nightclub for them. It asks them a series of questions about music, promotions, uniforms, decor, food, entertainment, and so on.

For me, the idea is to build some customer loyalty BEFORE the club opens. I also get their contact and demographic data, and it is starting the word-of-mouth early.

When the club does open in about a month, it'll be advertised as "the club that YOU helped to create".

This is being promoted on two radio stations, FaceBook Ads, Google Adwords, and through my managers and employees spreading the word on social websites.

See it at: www.createyournightclub.com (http://www.createyournightclub.com) and feel free to rip off the idea (except in Chicagoland).

Thanks!

David

i like the idea. you are already in that market so it is much easier for you. how would you do it if you wanted to go to miami where you did not know anyone ? it might be tough if you just walked around and asked peeps. but that is a good idea.

Ministry,

This should work anywhere because it is being promoted with mass media. I don't have to know people in the marketplace for it to work - although that would help a lot. It is sort of a "pre-marketing" campaign before the real marketing starts for the real-world nightclub.

But the idea could be used for any club that is already open - or one that is thinking about re-modeling / re-concepting.

It never hurts to get ideas from your customers - and I am getting a ton of grass-roots responses & ideas from my potential customers with this campaign.

I've done similar, but now we have the power of the web to spread the word. Yes, if done correctly, I agree that it can be done anywhere. I often say start your marketing plan running strong well before opening. Putting the customer first is a great start, but all operators should also continue with similar focus and info gathering ongoing after the bar or club is launched. People are lazy and very few operators do this. The best go the extra mile. Latter they wonder what can I do to make things better or correct a bad situation. Well, they should have started with the guests opinions and perspective long ago and got them involved imo.

Good plan David, do you want our input on possible Q's to add?

Geeez David, you mean I have to give you MY info just to find out how to get someone else's???
What if you use my name in a ponzy scheme or something...I don't want to go to jail or anything like that...I already know "Bruce from cell block B" he's a customer of mine...and NO thank you...
That's OK, I'll do it,
Thanks for the info in advance...
Rick

I like the idea. It's something different that has easy PR spin possibilities. I definitely think that the social media sites would provide the most cost effective responses. Have people re-tweet about it on twitter (which I will do now....) and create a Facebook fan page instead of just paying for ads. Have all employees, managers and their friends join and post updates to the page as you get feedback. That will keep the interest as the project progresses.

Cheers,

Barry
