Las vegas dominates nightclub, bar awards

Las Vegas swept all seven nightclub categories of the 2010 Nightclub & Bar Awards at the industry convention Tuesday at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

XS nightclub at Encore won mega-club of the year and new club of the year.

Nightclub of the year went to Tao at The Venetian.

There were more than 235 entries covering 14 categories, including bars, nightclubs, restaurants and DJs. Entries were submitted by venue owners, operators and managers, as well as suppliers, vendors and other industry members. Judging was based on excellence in on-premise concepts, programs, talent and professionalism.

The Nightclub & Bar Awards honor outstanding operators across the industry from large and small venues. The judging panel consists of 20 industry leaders, journalists and consultants.

· Single Promotion of the Year - Midsummer Night’s Dream – Palms, Las Vegas
· Ultra-Lounge of the Year - Blush Boutique Lounge, Las Vegas

· Beer Bar of the Year - Willimantic Brewing Company, Willimantic, Conn.

ya theres a shocker. those things always go to vegas clubs. no one really has a chance to win. almost makes you think that they are fixed ? ooooops ! i said it !

The Vegas Clubs are in a different category then the ones that we are use to. If you read the rest of the post, you'll see that there are awards given to the little guys too.

I think that there is more to this article than is posted here. I remember when I voted, there were numerous categories that were listed.

The show was great I had a lot of fun! XS was amazing club but i can't wait for the 250million dollar new club opening up at the Wynn. It will be called Surrender *wink wink* be over 50Ksqft
